in 2002. They are fully accredited by the British
Council, and are partner members of EnglishUK.

"When we started using Schoolworks in 2005 we were a smaller
language school and previously used a very basic home made Access
database and manually created letters. At the time we didn’t
even have a server or efficient data backup systems. When I was
researching all the options I found all the other school management
systems confusing and knew that we didn’t have an adequate
IT system. Brett spent time explaining Schoolworks to me, talked
us through the options and installed our IT network. Brett now also
provides all our IT support.
We use Schoolworks for all our record keeping, classing and
accounts. We are able to use it for our British Council and English
UK reports and keep track of student visas. The benefits to our
school are huge. Our school would not have been able to grow without
an efficient management system. It saves a lot of time registering
students and producing documentation and putting students into classes.
Schoolworks is very reliable and we have never had any problems
with it. Brett regularly checks the programme and makes sure it
is running quickly. He also calls to make sure that things are running
smoothly and updates are done remotely out of hours to reduce disruption
to our business.
We also know we can trust Brett’s recommendations for
our IT network. He always suggests a range of options and explains
the advantages and disadvantages of each – without pushing
us into the most expensive solution. If anything goes wrong with
our IT system we know that the Schoolworks team are at the end of
the phone and will sort it out quickly".

Worldwide School of English is considered as one of the top EFL
providers in New Zealand, and has been in operation since 1989.
The following is their testimonial:
"We are both heavily involved in the education industry in
NZ – Maureen Hayes as the chairwoman of CRELS (Combined Registered
English Language Schools) and Cleve Brown as the executive treasurer
of APPEL (Association of Private Providers English Language). We
are also members of ENGLISH NEW ZEALAND (formerly FIELS NZ).
In February of 2000, we decided that we would like to replace our
excel spreadsheet based system called ‘Auto123’ with
an alternative.
The reasons for replacing Auto123 were that accommodation, accounts
and attendance information were being held in separate files and
there were not linked together. We were also concerned that only
one member of staff (who has since left) knew how Auto123 worked,
and getting information out of it was slow and difficult to say
the least.
After evaluating competitive products both here and from the UK,
we decided to implement Schoolworks because it was easy to use and
Brett offered us a degree of customization and support that competitors
could not.
Brett also assured us that all the information held within Auto123
could be transferred into the new system without having to manually
retype all the information (Which at the time dated back some 3
years).
Prior to installation of Schoolworks, accounts and enrolment information
was stored in Auto123, attendance data was stored on paper sheets,
invoices were generated manually (using word) and accommodation
searches and host family data and bookings were held in paper files
accessible only by part time accommodation manager, Glenda.
Installation of Schoolworks was a lengthy process back in 2000,
but I would like to say that Brett has been with us at every step,
making improvements and additions at our request and has support
as his top priority.
Brett & Scholworks are now based in the UK, however, we get
remote support as if he were here on the premises via the internet.
Now we have a completely integrated system such that any member
of staff can access student records, accounts information, accommodation
bookings, agents information and update timetabling information
quickly and easily.
This has eased the workload on many staff members, sped up enrolment
times, accommodation bookings, enabled more accurate attendance
tracking, and importantly helped us meet our legal and audit requirements.
Schoolworks has exceeded our expectations and I would recommend
the product to any school looking to improve their performance,
cut administrative costs and increase their competitiveness in this
ever more competitive marketplace.
I would personally recommend Brett as a friendly, outgoing individual
who will put customer service at the top of the list, and fancy
speak and techno mumble at the bottom.
